About Our Opportunity
As the Claims Administrator (Clerk 3), under the direction of the Manager of Insurance and Risk Management you will complete transactions and support service excellence for insurance claim intake and processing in a fast-paced, ever-changing service delivery environment.
The Insurance and Risk Management unit intakes and processes documents, applies relevant Acts, Statutes, policies and procedures, and determines whether claimants’ requests meet claim eligibility requirements. You will be responsible for the intake, electronic file creation, and payment processing for all insurance claim activities and therefore must yield a high degree of accurate data entry while maintaining confidentiality. You will also assist the team as required to ensure the smooth operation of our paperless office.
As the ideal candidate, you will have four (4) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills which demonstrate your good judgement. You can be tactful during interactions with claimants, effectively managing difficult interactions and deescalating uncomfortable situations.
You will have excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the capability to handle large volumes of workflow while ensuring accuracy and meeting service levels.
You will have an above average ability with computer applications and software to support business processes and are not afraid to use new technology. You can operate both autonomously and as part of a larger team to ensure exceptional service is provided to our claimants and internal clients.
In addition, you have experience in:
Analyzing, researching, and reconciling financial information and resolving discrepancies
Processing large volumes of data entry with precision
Applying policies, procedures, processes and forms
The following would be considered assets:
Familiarity with the insurance, risk management or legal industry
Database entry experience
Financial or accounting knowledge
Experience with SAP

Salary Range: $1,579.09 – $1,766.79 Bi-Weekly
